Emergency Dental Care

At Campbell & Farrelly Dentistry, we guarantee to see emergencies within 24 hours. Dr. Campbell is always on-call during evenings and weekends. But don’t put off your dental needs. All emergencies, including toothaches, can be treated quickly and gently. If you are experiencing a dental emergency, call our office immediately. If you have a toothache, waiting can result in more pain, serious health problems, or even death. Dental emergencies typically come from two sources:

Infections

Both teeth and gums can become infected. Signs of infection are pain, bleeding, swelling, inflammation, redness, pus and fever. Dental infections are very serious and need to be treated immediately. If the infection is left untreated it can spread into the neck and constrict breathing, or even spread into the bloodstream causing a lethal condition known as sepsis.

Trauma

If your teeth are broken, loosened or lost in an accident it is important to see your dentist as soon as possible. Often, the outcome will depend heavily on how quickly treatment was administered. If you lose all or a part of your tooth, and if you are able to find it, put it into milk and bring it to your appointment. All head injuries and other serious medical conditions need to be addressed by a medical doctor prior to being seen for dental trauma.
